Physicality – Method learned by Nicola in Estonia

Nicola Hemsley from kaos youth circus Ltd (United Kingdom) presents a new method she’s learned during her mobility project with Tsirkus Folie ( Tallinn, Estonia):

“What particularly inspired me were the Physicality of Folie, and the way the trainers all worked in the same way across the age groups. In particular, the floor work and the warm up skills. I was particularly impressed by the Repetitive work, which strengthens and promotes flexibility and body awareness for each and every participant.

I felt that this approach to acrobatics, promoted strong group work, and individual development through the discipline of the training classes. In particular the strength and co-ordination of all the young people was impressive, and this is something I have now begun to introduce into my school.

I took notes and filmed the training sequences whilst I was there; keeping a journal of how the sequences were delivered. Since returning I have now adapted this methodology to suit my delivery and I am keen to introduce this physicality into Organised Kaos, and create the pursuit of physical excellence through gymnastics, and acrobatics.”
